WHO WE ARE

Oxford Sea Cadets

The Sea Cadets teach young people life skills and prepare them for the big and developing world that they're going into. There is a lot of learning, based on traditions of the Royal Navy. It provides the youth with a different platform and gives them a break from school or being stuck at home.

Activities vary throughout the year and aim to develop skills and talent of the younger generation. Throughout the summer, the majority of teaching takes place on the water, with cadets learning rowing, kayaking, sailing and power boating. In the winter months, ceremonial drill and specialisations (first aid, catering or seamanship) take priority.

WHERE THE PROFITS GO

Your Money Helps

The Sea Cadet Corps relies on donations and support from people and organisations including the Royal Navy. Fundraising throughout the year is important so that we can fund the cost of training and provide cadets with the best opportunities. At Oxford Sea Cadets, the annual selling of Christmas trees is our main fundraiser to support the unit all year round. All profits from this event are used to fund cadet experiences and training they gain whilst part of the Sea Cadets.
